• Location data: GPS coordinates used to trigger relevant stories while you travel
• Subscription information: Purchase history managed through the App Store or Google Play

3. How we use location data

Witan uses your device's GPS to trigger stories at the right place. Location data is processed in real-time to match your position against our database of historical places.

Important: Witan does not store permanent granular location history. We use location for story triggering, not for tracking your movements over time. Journey memory is used to avoid repetition within a session, not to build a permanent record of where you've been.

4. Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)

We process your personal data on these legal bases:

• Contract: Processing necessary to provide the Witan service you requested
• Legitimate interests: Improving the app, preventing abuse, basic analytics
• Consent: For optional marketing communications (you can withdraw anytime)
